We're back!

Vacation is fun, but sometimes it's just good to be home.

We arrived back in our driveway a few hours more than a week after we left. Since I wrote last we visited Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, Devil's Tower and Yellowstone National Park and had lots of great adventures!

Mt. Rushmore was neat, but it was a really cold day, but we got to see mountain goats so it was worth it! Then we visited the Crazy Horse Memorial and it was $25 to get in, but supposedly most of our money will go towards finishing the memorial. Again, it was cold so we spend our time inside. Our final site for the day was Devil's Tower, which we just drove close enough to see and then turned around because it was kinda out of the way.

Korey wanted to keep moving and get to Yellowstone so we kept driving into the sunset (the sun finally came out right as it was going down so it was right in our eyes driving west.) We wanted to get as far as we could, so we just kept driving and ended up driving through a mountain pass in the middle of the night (probably not the best idea.) There was lots of snow and deer.

We made it through the pass and decided we needed to sleep so we found a KOA Kampground to stay at and slept in a little cabin because the tent camping was under construction. Back on the road, we could see what we came through the night before and got our first good glimpse of mountains. We kept heading west across Wyoming until we got to Yellowstone. Since it was only Sunday, we were feeling pretty good about how far we had come and how much we had done and only missed one day of work so far!

We spent Sunday evening through Wednesday afternoon in Yellowstone, sightseeing and hiking. We even spent Tuesday night in the wilderness. (See our Yellowstone pictures on flickr.) After our night in the wilderness, we decided we had had enough adventures and headed for a hotel with a hot shower and a warm, soft bed.
